on Tuesday July 24, we have the special honor of welcoming Keiron Le Grice, who will enchant us with a presentation on Archetypal Astrology and the Arts. Dr. Le Grice is a professor of depth psychology and chair of the Jungian and Archetypal Studies specialization at Pacifica. He was the founder and co-editor of Archai: The Journal of Archetypal Cosmology, and now serves as Senior Editorial Advisor. In 2016, he established The Institute of Transpersonal and Archetypal Studies (ITAS), which offers workshops on archetypal astrology and depth psychology in London and New York. Keiron Le Grice has authored four books: The Archetypal Cosmos, Discovering Eris, The Rebirth of the Hero, and Archetypal Reflections. He also recently co-edited Jung on Astrology, a compilation of all of Jung’s writings in this area, and is currently working on The Way of the Archetypes—an application of archetypal astrology to individuation and human experience, focusing on especially on the planetary archetypes Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto.
His Myth Salon presentation will introduce the practice of archetypal astrology as a way to understand the archetypal patterns, themes, and dynamics of our human experience. Drawing on examples from philosophy, psychology, film, and music, we will consider how archetypal themes symbolized in astrological birth charts find expression in and through the lives and creative works of prominent cultural figures—such as Arthur Schopenhauer, Woody Allen, Joni Mitchell, Bruce Springsteen, Federico Fellini, and Ingmar Bergman.
