Myth Salon: Deep Wisdom and Archetypal Character of Traditional Chinese Medicine with David Liu

On Wednesday January 24, David Liu will join the Myth Salon to explore the deep wisdom and archetypal character of Traditional Chinese Medicine, particularly how and why eastern medicine has become so relevant and widely popular in contemporary western culture.

Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) is a tradition of healing and wellness that originated in China dating back over 2,500 years. According to TCM theory, our bodies possess a vital energy and recuperative life substance known as Qi. TCM encompasses many modalities including acupuncture, medicinal herbs, cupping, acupressure and Chinese massage, Feng Shui, Tai Chi, and meditation to help improve the quality, movement and balance of Qi. TCM has been adapted to modern living while still keeping to its traditional principles. In fact, acupuncture is the fastest growing medicine in the world today as people seek more natural and holistic approaches to living well. Acupuncture has undergone extensive research, and studies have shown it to be highly effective in treating acute and chronic pain, managing stress and anxiety, and dealing with certain diseases.

David Liu, L.Ac. is a board certified Acupuncturist and Herbalist based in Pasadena, who has dedicated his life and career to the study and practice of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Additionally, David is also a Feng Shui consultant and meditation instructor. His practice of TCM is predicated on mind and body wellness.
