The Chancellor’s Award for Excellence was created to recognize outstanding accomplishments by Pacifica Graduate Institute Alumni. This award acknowledges individuals’ exemplary work in service to the world, as well as their commitment and dedication to furthering the Institute’s mission. Pacifica Graduate Institute stands committed to sustaining intellectual vibrancy, advancing the boundaries of knowledge, providing the highest quality of instruction, and tending the soul of the world. Through this award, Pacifica Graduate Institute proclaims its pride in the achievements and personal dedication of its alumni.

Dr. Will Linn holds a Ph.D. in Mythological Studies with an Emphasis in Depth Psychology from Pacifica Graduate Institute in Santa Barbara, California; a BA in philosophy from the University of the South in Sewanee, Tennessee; and a CORe credential from Harvard Business School. His dissertation, Western Myths of Knowledge: Particles of Stone and Waves of Elixir, focuses on classical, Abrahamic, and scientific origin stories of knowledge.

Dr. Linn is the Interns Director for the Joseph Campbell Foundation and Executive Director for the Joseph Campbell Writers’ Room at Studio School Los Angeles, where he teaches courses on story and chairs the Department of General Education.

From 2015-2018, he served as Editorial Director for the JCF’s global grassroots network of Mythological RoundTable® groups. And from 2011-2017 he ran JCF Mythological RoundTable® events beneath the Ojai Foundation’s historic Teaching Tree.

Currently, in addition to co-hosting a Myth Salon in Santa Monica, Dr. Linn also co-hosts a radio show that he created for the Santa Barbara News Press called Mythosophia, in which he interviews leading story artists and scholars from such territories as myth and religion, science-fiction and fantasy, visions and dreams, rituals, novels, films, comics, and other storytelling formats and mediums.
