The Judeo-Christian myth has captured the imagination of the Western tradition for a long time, but its influence is now fading. However, the human need for myth and meaning never goes away, and neither does our need for connection to the spiritual dimension. This discussion will point out the continuing importance of myth, describe some of the ways in which the Judeo-Christian myth arose, and explain why it has lost its hold. The discussion will then describe a new mythic image of the divine that is arising from the work of C.G. Jung.
